UFC heavyweight prospect Curtis Blaydes is quickly becoming a contender after scoring a third-round TKO on the preliminary portion of the UFC 225 undercard in Chicago.
Blaydes and Overeem spent most of the first two rounds figuring each other out before a volley of vicious elbows from Blaydes put Overeem away in the third frame.
Blaydes has been making his way up the heavyweight ladder and has been on a roll ever since a loss to Francis Ngannou back in 2016, and hasn’t lost a fight in the UFC ever since.
Now coming off of two impressive victories over Mark Hunt and now Overeem, Blaydes is quickly establishing himself as a real threat at heavyweight.
Meanwhile; Overeem was returning from a devastating first-round knockout against Ngannou back at UFC 218 last year.
Is Blaydes getting closer to a title shot after his performance against Alistair Overeem on Saturday night?
