Valentina Shevchenko, a former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger announced herself as an immediate contender at 125 pounds, scoring a second-round submission finish against the debuting Priscilia Cachoeira.
The women’s flyweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 125 card at Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Para, Brazil.
Valentina Shevchenko quickly battered Cachoeira on the feet and hurt her really bad. Shevchenko then took the fight to the ground and cut up the Priscilia Cachoeira with sharp elbows and countless punches from the crucifix position. At last, after absorbing 112 significant strikes, Cachoeira gave into a rear-naked choke towards the end of the second round.
Did Valentina Shevchenko just place herself next in line for a shot at Nicco Montano for the UFC flyweight title?
