Dana White has announced the coaches for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.
March 8 is a special day in the world as females are honored with International Women’s Day. When it comes to UFC CEO Dana White, he paid tribute on I.W.D. by revealing who will coach The Ultimate Fighter Season 31. White had this to say during a video posted on his social media accounts:
“What’s up everybody? We have just confirmed the coaches for season 32 of The Ultimate Fighter, and it will be UFC women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and former champion Valentina Shevchenko.”
In March 2023, Alexa Grasso had an opportunity to fight Valentina Shevchenko for the latter’s UFC women’s flyweight title. Grasso came in as a near 6-1 betting underdog before shocking the world with a fourth-round submission win to become the new 125-pound queen.
Nine months later, Shevchenko sought revenge against Grasso in the UFC Noche main event on Mexican Independence Day. Once the dust settled, the judges were indifferent on the scorecards, leading to a split-decision draw for the Mexcian superstar to retain her throne.
Dana White predicts ‘a very fun season’ of The Ultimate Fighter between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko
The Ultimate Fighter was once one of the most entertaining reality shows in North America. Unfortunately, the product has arguably stalled out, with several entertaining seasons as outliers. With that said, Dana White revealed his expectations for Season 32 by saying this in the previously mentioned announcement video:
“Grasso became the first Mexican UFC women’s champ after defeating Shevchenko and their last fight resulted in a draw. Before their last two fights, Valentina had successfully defended the belt seven times. This show will premiere on June 4th on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+. I don’t have to tell you these are two of the most bada*s women on the planet, and this should be a very fun season.”
Valentina Shevchenko has maintained a respectful demeanor throughout her legendary UFC tenure. Yet, the buildup for her trilogy fight against Alexa Grasso, including TUF 32, could show a new side of ‘Bullet,’ as a second loss against the reigning women’s flyweight queen would drastically affect her legacy.
