- The UFC 294 current betting odds are finally out after a couple of huge changes in the card’s main event bouts
- Bettors unsurprisingly favor the original fighters over the replacements
Following the massive shakeup in the UFC 294 headliners, the updated betting odds for the card’s two main events have been revealed. According to the current odds, many unsurprisingly see Islam Makhachev and Khamzat Chimaev winning.
Bettors don’t want to put their money on the replacements
Unfortunate injuries saw original main eventers Charles Oliveira and Paulo Costa being forced to pull out from UFC 294. Luckily, reigning featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski and former welterweight champ Kamaru Usman stepped in to replace the injured Brazilians.
With that in mind, oddsmakers expect Makhachev and Chimaev to have a significant advantage over their replacement opponents. Based on the current odds courtesy of BetOnline via Jed I. Goodman, Islam and “Borz” are the favorites.

It’s a rare opportunity for the underdogs
On the other hand, Usman and Volkanovski are understandably the underdogs due to the fact that they both stepped in on just over a week’s notice. Apart from beating the odds, “The Nigerian Nightmare” and “The Great” will be coming in looking to make the most of the opportunity to redeem themselves.
It can be recalled that Volk failed to become a double champion after losing to Makhachev via unanimous decision at UFC 284. Usman, meanwhile suffered devastating back-to-back title fight losses to Leon Edwards. The first one took place at UFC 278 and the latest at UFC 286.
Needless to say, UFC 294 is Volkanovski and Usman’s chance to turn things around.
UFC 294 will take place on October 21 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
