UFC 221 Results: Curtis Blaydes Scores A Win Over Mark Hunt

A key heavyweight bout between surging division contender Curtis Blaydes and former interim title challenger Mark Hunt served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC 221 event in Perth.

Mark Hunt had his best moments in the opening round, but after Curtis Blaydes took him to the canvas, one of three first-round takedowns, Hunt didn’t really have any response. Curtis punctuated the second round with a big series of blows and elbows from the top in the closing seconds. The round ended with Blaydes in control.

In the last round, Blaydes had an early takedown and kept it on the canvas most of the round. Blaydes ends the fight with one more emphatic takedown and some more elbows from full mount.

Curtis Blaydes def. Mark Hunt via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 29-27)

Curtis Blayes is now 9-1, with his only career loss to Francis Ngannou. Mark Hunt is now 13-12-1 and has lost two of his past three fights.
