Mike Tyson‘s going through the thick of training camp all over again.

The former heavyweight champion faces none other than Jake Paul in his return to the boxing scene, fighting for the first time since his exhibition bout against a slightly younger Roy Jones Jr. in 2020 – decades removed from his last fight as a professional in 2005. Up there in age at 58 years old, Tyson’s road to war doesn’t come without some obstacles.

Tyson Says “The Fight Is Won In The Gym”

Such obstacles took Tyson out of his originally scheduled boxing match with Paul this summer as Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up, leaving Paul to fight “Platinum” Mike Perry in his place.

En route to the rescheduled date of Nov. 15, Tyson says he’s been training 3-4 times a day and that his body is absolutely dreading it.

“It’s hard to walk right now, but two months from now I’m going to be perfect,” Tyson said at a recent Cage Wars event (h/t: USA Today).

“The fight is won in the gym,” the boxing legend added with eight weeks out.

Sunday Football Face-Off

This weekend saw Paul and Tyson make another stop on their always-expanding press tour, facing off where they’ll be fighting in two months from now: AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. That’s where the boxers met face-to-face, first from their seats on the Jumbotron with Paul jokingly punching the seemingly annoyed Tyson through the screen.

Later, Paul and Tyson stared down on the football field surrounded by cameras, shaking hands before finally walking away.
