Tony Ferguson Wants Title Shot Against Khabib at UFC 245

Tony Ferguson Calls Out Khabib Once More

No bout in MMA history has been attempted to be made more times than Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Whenever one man has the chance to critique the other, it usually ends in a callout or a re-hashing of past events. Thus, usually adding more fuel to the fire of their feud. Tony took to Twitter today to once again, call for the matchup against Khabib. This time, he came equipped with a date in mind.

Previously, Tony spoke to Ariel Helwani after Khabib fought Dustin Poirier at UFC Abu Dhabi. In the interview, he expressed that he wasn’t impressed by the performance displayed by the Eagle. Calling him a wet blanket, Tony also made sure to emphasize that the two absolutely need to fight.

Tony Tweets, Calls Out Khabib for UFC 245

Once again, Ferguson put the idea of fighting Khabib out there for the fans to digest. Using social media to his advantage, Ferguson put out a tweet consisting of a photo of all his recent victims covered in blood.

The tweet read:

Pretty Sure We Can Make Some Room For Good Ol’ Fathead
@TeamKhabib #TeamTiramisuTakeover @ufc @danawhite
Make It Happen #DefendorVacate #Accepted
@BallengeeGroup
Dec 14 -Champ S**t Only™️

According to Ferguson, he would want the fight to take place on December 14th. On that night, The UFC will be in Las Vegas for UFC 245. Finishing touches on the card are yet to be complete, but so far the event has Amanda Nunes vs Germaine De Randamie slated as the main event.

Tweeting the desired date of December 14th wasn’t the only time Tony has mentioned that timeframe. In fact, Ferguson has been adamant on the date ever since his appearance on The Helwani MMA Show.

Making Tony vs Khabib a Reality

Making the fight would be the fifth time the promotion ventured into the business of the matchup. Khabib stated previously that without a doubt, Tony deserves the next shot at the belt. Last week, Tony said that he would love a crack at the title before the year ends.

Hopefully, the stars align and these two will finally be able to settle their differences in the cage. One thing is for sure, not a single fan will believe it’s happening until both men step in the cage, and the door locks.
