UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney is positive he could take Islam Makhachev out with his wrestling skills.

Terrance brags about his ground game

Speaking on Jaxxon podcast, “T. Wrecks” revealed that his aim is to obliterate Makhachev. As early as now, McKinney already claims that he could beat Makhachev in his own game because his wrestling is a cut above the rest.

“We got to beat Islam and I just know like lord willing when it happens, there’s no denying that, they can’t say that I’m not the best so that’s what I’m looking to do. My main goal is to f*** up Islam, that’s what I train to do. I’m telling you, they’re not doing that laying down sh*t and holding me down I promise that cause I’m probably like one of the hardest people to hold down. I can hold down a heavyweight if I wanted to like I can wrestle good,” McKinney boasted.

“They go for body locks, I know how they do this Sambo wrestling type of stuff. They’re not really like a flashy takedown, slick takedown kind of people. They’re like solid counter wrestlers. Outside single legs, things like that and body locks,” he added.

The best in the division

McKinney has yet to break into the lightweight division’s Top 15. Nevertheless, “T. Wrecks” already “guarantee” that he could beat any high-level lightweight within “30 seconds.”

“It’s probably my technique with wrestling… I, 100% guarantee, that I can get out in 30 seconds on anyone,” McKinney claimed.

As it stands, McKinney has gone 5-3 in the UFC with a 15-6 pro MMA record. He is far behind Makhachev as far as accomplishments goes and at this point, he would need to move mountains before he gets a shot at the lightweight champ.

However, McKinney is coming off a first-round TKO win over Brendon Marotte.
