T.J Dillashaw Believes He Should Be A Lot Higher In The Pound-For-Pound Ranking

TJ Dillashaw wants to be “GOAT” by dethroning Demetrious Johnson legacy.

T.J. Dillashaw scored a bantamweight championship at UFC 217 when he dethrones former teammate Cody Garbrandt via second-round TKO this past November.

Despite his memorable performance against Garbrandt, Dillashaw doesn’t believe he’s receiving the proper praise.

Current bantamweight champ Dillashaw said in a recent interview with ESPN, he should be in a better standing for pound-for-pound ranking.

”It’s frustrating because I believe I should be a lot higher [in the pound-for-pound ranking],” Dillashaw said. “Couple split-decision losses I felt should have gone my way. That’s the way this sport is. I don’t lose to Cruz [in 2016], I’m up there for best in the world. It’s all meant to be. It’s going to end up leading to a great thing.”

T.J. Dillashaw is seeking a potential super fight with flyweight champion and current top pound-for-pound kingpin Demetrious Johnson from a long time. Dillashaw is currently ranked No. 6 on the P4P list; it will be hard to get past in the presence of Mighty Mouse.

”I’m looking to come in and dethrone him from his legacy,” Dillashaw said. “He won’t be able to call himself the ‘GOAT’ anymore.”

”It’s so easy for him to continue calling himself that and take the fights he thinks are a little easier,” he added. “He’s a cerebral fighter. He and his coach are smart guys, and they know I bring the greatest threat. I think he knows that’s going to be a tough one for him to win.”

Apparently, Dillashaw still wants to make the drop to 125 pounds to overturn the “GOAT” legacy Johnson has been building around himself.

Dillashaw says he is confident that Mighty Mouse will offer him a chance and it’s the most reasonable move for both fighters in 2018.

Johnson last fought at UFC 216 against Ray Borg back in October, where he won the bout via a spectacular fifth-round armbar.

If TJ Dillashaw able to secure a super fight of champions with Mighty Mouse and manage to dethrone him, no doubt he will be in the category of the best fighter of all time.
