  • Sean Strickland is open for a rematch with Israel Adesanya at UFC 300
  • “Tarzan” is not happy with UFC 297’s co-main event

Sean Strickland wouldn’t hesitate to headline UFC 300 against Israel Adesanya for the right price. Unsurprisingly, “Tarzan” also had something to say about UFC 297’s co-main event.

UFC 300 with Izzy is good

Speaking to Shak MMA, the reigning UFC middleweight champion got brutally honest about his take on taking on Adesanya in a rematch to headline UFC 300. For Strickland, he is tired of cutting weight but he might still say yes.

“I’m f**king sick of dieting. I feel like I’ve been one of the most active fighters, like every f**king month the UFC calls me a fight. As of always, give me a dollar amount, I’ll probably say yes,” Strickland said.

Sean takes dig at UFC 297’s co-main event

UFC 297 will be co-headed by Raquel Pennington vs. Mayra Bueno Silva for the vacant women’s bantamweight title. In typical Strickland fashion, “Tarzan” criticized the UFC for making it the co-main event.

“Here’s the thing about women, you guys… Read my shirt, ‘A woman in the kitchen,'” Strickland said. “They gave us a women co-main event for a f**king vacant belt… Maybe we can change it to like, the ‘UFC scissor organization’ and it might get a little bit more buys. At the press conference… every time they ask me a question, I’m gonna defer to my counterpart, Mayra. ‘Hey Mayra, will you please answer this question for me and for the people and let them know’… Is it like a UFC quota we’re trying to f*cking hit? Does this have to happen? Why do you do Canada dirty like this?,” Strickland ranted.

Strickland will be hoping to defend his title for the first time against his nemesis Dricus du Plessis this weekend at UFC 297. As early as now, it’s safe to say fans are already excited to see how the pair’s beef would impact the fight.
