Sean Strickland was able to catch a suspected car thief that trespassed on his property. Understandably, some fans tried to link the bizarre incident to the reigning UFC middleweight champion’s recent beef with Ian Garry.

Caught in the act

Sharing what happened via his Ring cam, “Tarzan” posted the clip in which he stormed into his car garage after seeing a random guy enter his property. In the video, the man appears to be planning to do something with one of Strickland’s cars. Seconds later, Strickland came out of the house to confront him.

Fortunately, nothing serious took place and Strickland even joked about the incident in his caption.

“Checked my ring last night and thought he was stealing my car or trying to break in… What would you of done??? I need full coverage on my truck lol!!! Also really nice guy…,” Strickland wrote.

To no surprise, some fans were quick to come up with a narrative. In the comments section of the post, some online fans were quick to attribute the whole incident to Ian Garry as they speculated that it was the UFC welterweight contender’s revenge after Strickland insulted him and his wife.

“Turned out it was Ian Garry escaping his wife,” a fan wrote.

“Ian Garry sent his goons,” another fan commented.

“That’s Ian Garry’s lawyer,” another fan said.

The man picked the wrong place to hide

Strickland later uploaded a longer version of the video and said that the guy was drunk and was trying to escape a security guard after being seen “stomping out a girl.” The man then messed up his tire and broke into Strickland’s parking lot to hide. Strickland then showed up with a handgun and fend him off. Moments later, police arrived and Strickland could be seen giving the guy what appeared to be a little shove that knocked him down to the ground.

“The guy was drunk stomping out a girl, a security guard seen it, he jumped in his car and drove off. Security followed him, hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for awhile then jumped out and tried to hide at my house. I initially thought he was stealing my car..

He was arrested,” Strickland wrote.

Strickland is currently gearing up for his first title defense against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297.
