  • “Tarzan” and “The Bullet” had a back-and-forth on social media last year

Valentina Shevchenko confirmed that Sean Strickland genuinely apologized for insulting female MMA fighters.

Sean was just possessed by demons

Speaking to Red Corner MMA, “The Bullet” addressed her past banter with “Tarzan” on social media. According to Shevchenko, Strickland asked for forgiveness for his derogatory remarks and said that he was just “possessed by demons” at the time because only training has been keeping him sane.

“Oh, yes he did apologize,” Shevchenko said. “He said that when he is not training, he starts losing his mind. As he wrote he gets possessed by demons. So he apologized in a very polite manner. Said that he had a training session, sparred for 10 rounds which set his mind right.”

Valentina didn’t let Sean slide

The conflict between Strickland and Shevchenko stemmed from a series of brutal comments courtesy of the former UFC middleweight champion about female MMA fighters last year. In typical Strickland fashion, he gave his unfiltered thoughts on Paige VanZant’s post which stated that “12 Gauge” made more money with OnlyFans than with the UFC.

As one of the greatest female fighters of her generation, Shevchenko did not let Strickland getaway with his remarks. She hit back at “Tarzan” and the pair had a brief exchange.

In the end, as Shevchenko mentioned, Strickland cleared the air and blamed the demons for his actions.

Strickland has earned quite a bad rap for his vulgar and controversial takes on various matters, especially on women. He has had his fair share of feuds with his fellow MMA fighters and even famous celebrities, most recently with Machine Gun Kelly.

While there’s still no clear indication when will “Tarzan” tone it down, it’s a good thing that he and Shevchenko have already buried the hatchet.
