- Sean Strickland apologized to Valentina Shevchenko for his derogatory remarks about women fighters
- “Tarzan” and “The Bullet” had a back-and-forth on social media last year
Valentina Shevchenko confirmed that Sean Strickland genuinely apologized for insulting female MMA fighters.
Sean was just possessed by demons
Speaking to Red Corner MMA, “The Bullet” addressed her past banter with “Tarzan” on social media. According to Shevchenko, Strickland asked for forgiveness for his derogatory remarks and said that he was just “possessed by demons” at the time because only training has been keeping him sane.
“Oh, yes he did apologize,” Shevchenko said. “He said that when he is not training, he starts losing his mind. As he wrote he gets possessed by demons. So he apologized in a very polite manner. Said that he had a training session, sparred for 10 rounds which set his mind right.”
Valentina didn’t let Sean slide
The conflict between Strickland and Shevchenko stemmed from a series of brutal comments courtesy of the former UFC middleweight champion about female MMA fighters last year. In typical Strickland fashion, he gave his unfiltered thoughts on Paige VanZant’s post which stated that “12 Gauge” made more money with OnlyFans than with the UFC.
As one of the greatest female fighters of her generation, Shevchenko did not let Strickland getaway with his remarks. She hit back at “Tarzan” and the pair had a brief exchange.
In the end, as Shevchenko mentioned, Strickland cleared the air and blamed the demons for his actions.

Paige Vanzant said she made more on only fans in 24 hours than she did in the UFC. Let's unpack..
1. You were signed because you're hot.
2. Women's mma is lame.
3. Men will pay more to see you naked than to watch you fight.Stay in school kids, fighting sucks lol

Interesting unpack here 🤔
That looks more like an offended kid, who got less money in his entire fighter career than female fighters do! 😂
Good try, maybe UFC will see that and add some cash 💵 to your purse next time.
But for now naked is you are 😂 https://t.co/17IfqFmS06— Valentina Shevchenko (@BulletValentina) November 11, 2023
Valentina you lost to a girl who pulls guard, you look like you learned striking from a YouTube video. LMAO female MMA. It's like watching children fight it's fun but we all know it's trash. You only have a job because you know when to put heels on and take off your clothes https://t.co/pMumY27Djc

Look like you was beaten by a girl in the gym and now you are offended to all women in the world 😏
Poor baby boy ! 👦
Train harder to not lose to a girl 😂 https://t.co/Ok9OAzIVkl— Valentina Shevchenko (@BulletValentina) November 11, 2023
Just had a 10 round death match.. It was glorious BUT all the demons are gone and the voices in my head are giving me peace now…… Valentina you're right, you have good head kicks. Next time you're in Vegas lets go shooting. Have a great day:) https://t.co/s7urX3c779

It's the demons man… It's not me…. If I don't spar my brain turns into this toxic I want the world to burn… the moment I get a really good sparring session I see clearly again…. IDK maybe one day I'll try medication or drugs.

Strickland has earned quite a bad rap for his vulgar and controversial takes on various matters, especially on women. He has had his fair share of feuds with his fellow MMA fighters and even famous celebrities, most recently with Machine Gun Kelly.
While there’s still no clear indication when will “Tarzan” tone it down, it’s a good thing that he and Shevchenko have already buried the hatchet.
