Sean O’Malley decided to go live on Twitch while high on painkillers.

Earlier this week, O’Malley underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum—an injury he suffered in the weeks leading up to his UFC 306 headliner against Merab Dvalishvili. ‘Sugar’ ultimately lost the bout via a decisive unanimous decision after ‘The Machine’ largely dominated him with his grapple-heavy attack throughout the five-round affair.

In the Twitch clip, which you can see below courtesy of Happy Punch on X, O’Malley was noticeably loopy—particularly when he decided to call fellow streamer Adin Ross and ask him to do some freestyling.

“First off I wanna say, I didn’t take any pain pills — I didn’t even go to sleep,” O’Malley said during the stream. “They did the surgery, I was wide awake. It hurt a little bit, I’m not gonna lie. Whoa dude I feel like I’m peaking. Alright, Twitch fam … we’re here, we’re there, we’re everywhere.”

Sean O’Malley Will Focus on Healing Up While Merab Dvalishvili Circles His First UFC Title Defense

No official timeline has been revealed for O’Malley’s return to the Octagon, but the former bantamweight champ is expected to be on the shelf for a minimum of 6-8 months. When he does return, he’ll likely jump right back into the title picture, but much of that will depend on who the champion is.

Merab Dvalishvili has been nothing short of dominant in recent years, securing 11 straight wins dating back to 2018. ‘The Machine’ is expected to defend his title for the first time against unbeaten Dagestani sensation Umar Nurmagomedov.

Sitting on a perfect 18-0 record, Nurmagomedov solidified his spot as the next man in line via a decision victory over Cory Sandhagen in Abu Dhabi in August. Nurmagomedov is currently a 2-to-1 favorite to defeat Dvalishvili in a yet-to-be-announced title clash.
