  • Sean O’Malley imagines making Conor McGregor jealous if he beats Umar Nurmagomedov
  • “Suga” is already booked against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306

Sean O’Malley thinks facing and beating a Dagestani fighter like Umar Nurmagomedov just would make Conor McGregor jealous of him.

Sean may want to irk Conor

Speaking on his YouTube channel after watching Nurmagomedov defeat Cory Sandhagen at UFC Abu Dhabi, “Suga” shared his thoughts on the Dagestani’s call for a title shot. For O’Malley, it’s hard to tell at this point if that fight is the best there is for him after Merab Dvalishvili but he might consider it just to irk “Notorious,” who famously got submitted by Umar’s cousin Khabib in 2016.

“Me versus Umar next?, question mark, hash tag ‘we’ll see.’ LOL. [Deiveson Figueiredo] Figgy called me out, Ilia and Max are gonna fight soon, undefeated Umar, 18-0, vs. undefeated Suga show, 19-0, beat a Dagestanian. I wouldn’t mind that. That’d be a real good way to get at Conor. Ooh, imagine how jealous he would be? I might just go whoop Umar just for that reason alone. Haha,” O’Malley tauntingly said.

O’Malley needs to worry about Merab first

Nurmagomedov will definitely leapfrog a number of top bantamweight contenders with his huge win over Sandhagen. He is likely to become the No. 2 contender but while he presents a strong case for title contention, O’Malley needs to focus on his upcoming title fight with Dvalishvili first before thinking about Nurmagomedov.

The reigning champion is set to defend his title against “The Machine” at UFC 306 next month at The Sphere. As expected, the pair already had a heated encounter and engaged in a verbal altercation ahead of the match.

As for Nurmagomedov, the win over Sandhagen saw him improving his undefeated record to 18-0. He has now gone unbeaten in all of his six fights under the UFC banner.
