Sean O’Malley does not see any similarities between Paddy Pimblett’s win at UFC 282 and his win at UFC 280 in terms of controversy.

At UFC 282 UFC lightweight rising star, Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett won a unanimous decision victory over Jared Gordon. Immediately when the scores were read, fans began to post their disagreement on social media. The word “robbery” was thrown around quite a bit and many felt as if Gordon had done enough to warrant the win.

After the fight, both Dana White and Pimblett expressed their views on the fight, both thought the call was correct, but a judging controversy has arisen in the wake of the bout. One judge, Doug Crosby has been called into question for his scores at this event and at the Bellator event the night before.

One man who has felt the wrath of the fans calling robbery is Sean O’Malley. In his fight against Petr Yan, O’Malley won the bout but many scored it for Yan. Now O’Malley is looking at the Pimblett decision in a similar way.

“Obviously the controversial Paddy versus Jared Gordon was, I still haven’t rewatched it and I’m mad at myself because I don’t want to talk on it until I do. But there was not one person in that place that thought that Paddy won,” he said on his YouTube channel. ” Mine. I fought Petr Yan. I fought the number one killer. Jared Gordon is good and he proved he was good. But that was it’s not even in the same conversation.”

O’Malley believes that if he were to go back and look at the fight again he would still have scored it for Gordon. He made the case that even Joe Rogan went back and watched his fight again and awarded him the win. O’Malley believes that the scoring was off and that Pimbeltt may have won a biased fight.

“I said they’re gonna give it to Paddy. I said, they’re gonna give a sh-tty decision to Patty through like, it was like the second or third round,” he said. “Isn’t one of the judges on it getting looked at?”

O’Malley is currently sitting out, waiting for his next bout. He might be in title contention and could be in a good position to take on the winner of the next title bout that is slated to be between champion Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo. For now, he will continue to train, watch fights, and post his videos to YouTube.
