Ronda Rousey Would Only Do MMA Comeback Fight Against Gina Carano

Rousey, who is currently retired from mixed martial arts, revealed she would only return to fight Carano.

Ronda Rousey would only return to the Octagon for one opponent.

Rousey hasn’t competed since suffering a first-round TKO defeat to Amanda Nunes in their women’s bantamweight title fight back in December 2016.

She has since retired from mixed martial arts and currently competes in the WWE along with her many other ventures.

Given her long absence from mixed martial arts and the way she has usually handled defeat, not many are expecting “Rowdy” too ever put on a pair of gloves again.

Ronda Rousey: Gina Carano Was The Reason I Started Fighting

However, there is one person who could convince her to do that and it’s fellow women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano.

“No,” Rousey said on The Kurt Angle Show when asked if she would return (via Post Wrestling). “Well… There’s only one person. There’s only one person I would come back for. I mean, I’ve said it a million times. It’s not like it’s something new but, for Gina man. Gina Carano, she’s the reason why I got into fighting, she’s the reason why I knew it was a possibility.

“I will always be forever grateful… and if she ever was like, ‘Ronda, I wanna fight you tomorrow at 205 pounds,’ like whatever the hell she’d want — I’m not saying she’s 205 pounds — if she wanted to come into my backyard and do the Rocky thing or, you know, ding, ding and we just do it in the backyard, I don’t care. I will fight Gina wherever she wants and if she doesn’t want to forever, leave [that there]. It’s a respect thing, not like a, ‘F*ck you. I’m coming to get you.’ It’s just like, hey, if you ever wanna pull that card out, it’s there. I love her. Thank you Gina for everything you’ve done.”

Carano, herself, is retired from mixed martial arts, having last competed back in 2009 as she has since transitioned to the big screen.

But despite the long absence for the duo, a fight between them would certainly draw attention and sell many tickets.
