19-year-old teen phenom Raul Rosas Jr. made his fourth walk to the Octagon on Saturday night at UFC Louisville.

Rosas Jr. burst onto the scene at UFC 282 scoring a first-round rear-naked choke submission over Jay Perrin. However, ‘El Niño Problema’ was dished a dose of reality four months later when he came up short on the scorecards against Christian Rodriguez. Since then, he has returned to the win column with another opening-round finish against Terrence Mitchell.

Stepping inside the KFC Yum! Center, Rosas Jr. was tasked with taking out Houston native Ricky Turcios.

Round 1

Turcios comes out guns blazing from the get-go, throwing a variety of kicks. That prompts Rosas to shoot in for a takedown, getting his opponent down to the canvas near the 30-second mark of the round. Rosas moves into side control and puts heavy pressure on Turcios against the cage wall. Rosas attempts to move into the mount, but Turcios uses his butterfly guard to keep Rosas from advancing.

Turcios scrambles back to his feet, but Rosas immediately takes him back down to the canvas with a double leg. Turcios again gets to his feet, but can’t shake the grip of Rosas who drives him back down to the mat. Turcios reverses, getting top position and inevitably taking Rosas’ back. Turcios cinches his arm under Rosas’ chin and cranks with just under a minute to go.

Turcios is unable to get under the chin and Rosas reverses position, getting on top. Rosas then transitions to the back and teases his own RNC before the first round ends.

Round 2

Rosas Jr. comes out bringing the pressure early and quickly gets the fight back down to the ground. Turcios gets back to his feet, but Rosas takes his back down to the mat almost immediately, taking his back in the process. Rosas slaps on the body triangle and goes to work, looking for a rear-naked choke. Rosas secures his arm under the chin of Turcios and cranks, forcing Turcios to tap out.

Official Result: Raul Rosas Jr. def. Ricky Turcios via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:22 of Round 2.
