PFL is working hard to land Cris Cyborg.

Over the last year, the biggest fight that never happened might be the proposed fight between Bellator champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and former PFL champion Kayla Harrison. There has been tension between these two top female fighters for a while now and even though they currently fight in two different promotions both have seemed interested in the bout. Now with Harrison coming off her first loss, things may have changed.

Harrison lost her PFL finals bout against Larissa Pacheco earlier this past month. Harrison is one of the biggest stars in the Professional Fighters League, but with her recent loss, the head of the PFL might be looking to fast-track the bout with Cyborg.

Cris Cyborg does not seem interested in PFL’s current offer to face Kayla Harrison

Cyborg took to social media following Harrison’s loss to send her some kind words. She also threw a backhand insult her way by claiming that PFL should send Pacheco a bonus having saved the company 3 million dollars. That was the rumored price PFL was going to pay Cyborg to fight Harrison. PFL founder Donn Davis has upped the offer to make the bout happen.

“OFFER STANDS,” he wrote on Twitter. “Kayla Harrison vs. Cris Cyborg, $1M each fighter + $2M winner. Additional ‘tip’ … winner choice Rolls-Royce. Biggest cash purse in history for female MMA fight. No more hiding … decide the best inside the cage … PFL MMA PPV Super Fight.”

Not too keen on the ideas, Cyborg responded with a poster of her boxing return and a proposal of an 80 to 20 split. The status of Cyborg’s contract with Bellator is up in the air and if she does not return PFL could be a lucrative option. For now, she is focused on her boxing career and has lined up her second pro boxing match. She will be taking on Gabrielle Holloway on the undercard of the Terence Crawford vs. David Avanesyan boxing match on December 10 in Omaha.
