  • “Borrachinha” will fight Ikram Aliskerov but is still mentioning “Borz”

UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa will step inside the Octagon for the first time this year as he takes on Russia’s Ikram Aliskerov at UFC 291. Ahead of the match, “Borrachinha” showed off his incredible physique while working out and poking fun at his previously rumored opponent Khamzat Chimaev.

Paulo is still motivated by Khamzat

In a short video clip, a sweaty and pumped-up Costa could be seen lifting some dumbbells as he repeatedly uttered “Gourmet Chen Chen,” a nickname he came up with in the past to mock Chimaev.

The Brazilian will face a different opponent in Aliskerov but it is quite easy to see that “Borz” still gets him fueled. In fact, Costa even sent Chimaev a warning in the caption.

“Gourmet Chen Chen is already dead #secretJuice,” Costa wrote.

Fans were Satisfied

As expected, Costa’s epic post got fans entertained once again. In the comments section, some online MMA fans called for a Costa vs. Chimaev bout, while others just found the Brazilian’s post hilarious.

Check out what some of them had to say below:

“Chimaev has been avoiding costa.”

“This guy is off his rocker and I absolutely love it.”

“Tf did I just watch.”

“Paulo I love you so much man, but with Khamzat it s gonna be like Adesanya, you have no chance , I respect you so much.”

“Abu Dhabi October. Paulo Costa Vs Khamzat Chimaev. Fight that makes sense.”

“You are gonna lose to the guy he already beat, Paulo.”

Chimaev and Costa have been regularly throwing shades at one another. Their verbal war reached its boiling point and the pair infamously had an altercation when they crossed paths at the UFC PI. They were rumored to take on each other at UFC 294 but the UFC later booked Costa against Aliskerov for UFC 291.

Costa is coming off a huge decision win over former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. He is set to face Dana White’s Contender Series alum Aliskerov, who successfully knocked out his UFC debut opponent Phil Hawes in the first round at UFC 288. Interestingly, Aliskerov has a 14-1 pro MMA record and his only loss was against Chimaev.
