Paulo Costa has shifted his attention from Sean Strickland to Derek Brunson.

Costa and Strickland have been going back and forth on social media. Costa had called out Strickland and labeled him a “rat.”

“Let’s do it rat.” Costa posted across his social media, along with screenshots showing Sean’s past interest in fighting him. “No sportsmanship for this rat.”

Strickland fired back, dismissing “Borrachinha’s” callout.

“I asked for Costa and the UFC didn’t seem so confident in his future,” Strickland replied. “Also I dont think they liked me punching down to get a title shot lol.. but worst case for you Costa there is always bellator.. Maybe 205? Idk…”

Costa responded, claiming Strickland simply doesn’t want to fight him because he’s a fake tough guy.

“I knew you were a f*cking p*ssy,” Costa responded. “But this show of insecurity surprised even me. just another fake macho.”

Paulo Costa Turns Attention To Derek Brunson

Now that a showdown with Strickland is seemingly off the table, Paulo Costa now sets his sights on Derek Brunson. Here’s what he had to say on Twitter:

“Now it’s time [for] Derek Brunson [to run away] or accept. Sean gave up. Brunson?”

Costa last competed back in Oct. 2021. He shared the Octagon with Marvin Vettori in a fun five-round scrap. Ultimately, Vettori got his hand raised via unanimous decision.

As for Brunson, he had his five-fight winning streak snapped back in February. Despite getting off to a strong start against Jared Cannonier, Brunson was stopped in the second round via TKO.
