Paul Felder Will Be Making Championship Weight AT UFC 242
UFC lightweight contender Paul Felder is preparing to take on Brazilian sensation in the co-headliner of upcoming UFC 242 PPV event takes place in Abu Dhabi on September 7 which is headlined by Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Dustin Poirier.
Felder’s showdown with Barboza is a nontitle bout that means he can make 156 pounds one-pound allowance however he plans on to make a championship weight in case Russian or interim champ ‘The Diamond’ pull out of their title fight.
“A co-main event with Khabib and Poirier headlining? The answer is yes,” Paul Felder Told MMAJunkie. “I’ll be making 155 pounds for weigh-ins. Of course.”
To remind you, Tony Ferguson pulled out due to injury a week before his lightweight title bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223 last year. Max Holloway did a favor and stepped in on short notice, but the commission deemed him medically unfit to make weight. Afterward number of names thrown in the hat who ‘Eagle’ will face.
Felder also asked to step in even made championship weight, but the commission denied him because he was un-ranked. The promotion moved on with Al Iaquinta who came up 155.2 pounds that mean if Al won he wouldn’t be eligible to win the strap.
Felder is coming off a decision win over James Vick in a lightweight bout that means he sits in top 15 in the division.
