Papy Abedi is definitely a guy you want to look out for at UFC 138

The war ravaged Democratic Republic of Congo is the second largest country in Africa and holds untold wealth not only in diamonds but also in the form of so called conflict minerals such as coltran, wolframite and cassiterite. Our demand for the technology that these minerals facilitate is almost as insatiable as our demand for fighters who can separate people from consciousness and luckily for us, D.R. Congo’s providing some of that too. Papy Abedi, by way of Sweden is flying the flag for D.R. Congo next weekend at UFC 138 where he will debut against Thiago Alves. Don’t know much about him? No worries. The folks over at MMANyet.se anticipated this and have been filming a documentary, ‘The Makambo Story’, where he talks about growing up in D.R. Congo and his judo background, as well as trying to cut weight from his monstrous frame so he can fight at 170lbs. Oh yeah, there’s also the story about how he urinated in his pants coming back from training one night. Check out the latest episode of this documentary below.
