PVZ Issues Message To Haters
Paige VanZant has been known to dip her toes in different waters. Most recently, she did a photo shoot with Sports Illustrated.
The swimsuit edition photo spread was met with mixed reviews. Although there was a large amount of praise, some would rather her stick to only MMA. PVZ recently spoke to Fansided, to discuss the critics, and her struggle to find herself.
“I’ve been pushing these opportunities to the side. I can only hide so much of my girliness. I’ve been turning down opportunities because I do want people to see me as a professional fighter. I’m done with that. I’m going to 100 percent be myself. There is this new era of being strong and beautiful. The die-hard fight fans can complain that I’m doing things like Sports Illustrated but it’s who I am and I absolutely loved it.”
It was a heartfelt message from PVZ. She has had her hands in various things other than fighting; competing on Dancing With The Stars, and Chopped. However, Paige VanZant is 5-3 in her UFC tenure, having lost 3 of her last five. She had a response for haters who call her a pretty face, saying her activities outside of the cage don’t reflect her fighting abilities.
“[those] fans are morons.the problem with fights fans is they are quick to forget. They focus on who won the most recent fight…I don’t think there should be any question about my fight career at this point. I’ve broken my arm twice. Maybe I don’t look like a professional fighter but, hey, I was born this way. Call my mom and dad.”
Born to be a fighter or not, Paige VanZant is currently sidelined due to injury. In the interim, fight fans do have those swimsuit photos to look forward to.
