Amanda Nunes has her eyes on a trilogy next, but it’s not against Julianna Pena.
The UFC double-champion won back her bantamweight title after battling Pena at UFC 277. While the series is all tied up at 1-1, perhaps there’s no need for a trilogy given Nunes’ domination in the rematch. With that said, who should Nunes fight next? Well, it looks like a fight with former foe Valentina Shevchenko may soon be on the horizon.
Shevchenko Shoots First
‘Bullet’ would shoot off a message following Nunes’ title recapture on Saturday night.
“Looks like Amanda decide to fully copy my stand up game,” Shevchenko wrote on Twitter. “Great fight both ladies!”

Nunes Responds
It wouldn’t take long for Nunes to notice Shevchenko’s tweet.
“That’s funny,” Nunes told Middle Easy and other reporters post-fight. “She has to put out there something to stand out, because right now, as a champion, Valentina, she lost her last fight. I really think if Taila doesn’t get that headbutt, that fight could have been way different.”
Nunes Welcomes Trilogy
Despite being 2-0 against the UFC Flyweight Champion, Nunes wouldn’t mind crossing paths with Shevchenko once again.
“Good (idea),” Nunes continued. “She’s a champion, too. That would be awesome.”
