Lightweights collide at PFL 6.
UFC veteran ‘Hurricane’ Shane Burgos and Japanese knockout artist Yamato Nishikawa fight for a place in the PFL Playoffs. Both fighters look to get their first win in the Smart Cage this time around as they failed in their promotional debuts against Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Clay Collard back in April.
Round 1:
Nishikawa works the leg kicks. Burgos looks to close the distance but Nishikawa keeps away, picking at Burgos with his kicks. Burgos grabs a takedown on Nishikawa and establishes top control. Burgos lands solid ground and pound. ‘Hurricane’ hails more punches from up top. Nishikawa, controlled against the cage, eats more shots from Burgos. Burgos closes the round with more strikes from top position.

Round 2:
Burgos gets a body lock on Nishikawa and quickly takes him down. Burgos patters Nishikawa with small punches. Burgos isn’t too active on the ground. Burgos lands shots to the body from top position. Burgos’ onslaught continues with Nishikawa looking helpless on the canvas.

Round 3:
Nishikawa enters the third round with an early flurry of strikes. Burgos catches Nishikawa with a nasty leg kick. Burgos lands to the head of Nishikawa before initiating yet another takedown. Burgos simply dominates on the ground, not doing Nishikawa any favors. Burgos pours on more punches from top position. Nishikawa returns with a few strikes of his own from the bottom. Both fighters trade strikes on the mat, with the toppling Burgos getting the better of the exchanges. Burgos lets it all go in the final 10 seconds but doesn’t find the finish he was so hoping for.
