Joe Rogan kind of called it. The betting public and majority of MMA media types all tabbed Jose Aldo as the favorite over Conor McGregor. In the final seconds before round one of the UFC 194 main event, UFC analysis had one final conversation with the UFC producers and directors in the production truck.
The new leaked audio reveals Rogan breaking down Aldo’s body while Bruce Buffer was finishing off the fighter intros. Per the audio Rogan says Aldo looks a little “deflated”. Rogan reasoning behind Aldo’s body transformation could be that he focused on cardio during his camp. Too much bike riding not enough beach sand dance moves like McGregor?
Cardio? A training camp injury? Alien abduction? “Other reasons”? Any of these theories could explain Aldo’s new body heading into his title fight with McGregor.
Rogan’s final words before the fighter instructions and the audio cuts out is that Aldo” looks nervous as fuck”. Kind of prophetic when 13 seconds later McGregor would be laying Aldo out for the first time in his UFC career.
