Nate Marquardt, not Tyron Woodley, gets to fight Jake Ellenberger at UFC 158

In the sweepstakes to replace Rory MacDonald at UFC 158 in his fight against Carlos Condit, Tyron Woodley has officially finished second — which unfortunately awards him absolutely nothing. Not even a 36-second KO against Jay Hieron could grant Woodley another shot inside the Octagon against a top-tier welterweight. Granted, Marquardt did knockout Woodley last year at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy so when MMA math is applied, the decision by ZUFFA to peg Nate Marquardt in against Jake Ellenberger does have some merit.

However, I’m still anticipating when Nick Diaz misses a UFC 158 press conference and Dana White demotes him to the undercard and gives Johny Hendricks the title shot. Knock on wood, of course. Check out what Nate Marquardt tweeted just moments ago regarding his newly acquired fight.
