Nate Diaz got into a brief altercation with Dillon Danis, a training partner of Conor McGregor, after UFC 281.

This past Saturday, UFC marked its return to the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York after a three-year hiatus due to pandemic-related restrictions. The card featured the middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira as the main event. Danis, a resident of the area, was in attendance for the event and ran into trouble right after it concluded.

In a video doing rounds on the internet, Nate Diaz and Danis can be seen nearly coming to blows after UFC 281. Diaz reportedly slapped Danis and drinks were thrown from both sides outside the Garden.

Diaz recently got into another altercation at Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva

Former UFC star Nate Diaz completed the last fight on his contract when he faced fan favorite Tony Ferguson in the headlining bout of UFC 279 in September. The Stockton native was originally lined up to compete against top-ranked welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev but got shuffled with ‘El Cucuy’ after Chimaev came in overweight. Diaz put in an impressive performance to earn a fourth-round finish of Ferguson by submission.

Following the win, Diaz shared his plans to explore free agency and try out different combat sports, including boxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Last month, he made his way to Arizona for YouTube sensation-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s boxing match with mixed martial arts icon Anderson Silva. Diaz got involved in a similar incident at the event when he and his team ran into Paul’s camp backstage.

Paul and Diaz have traded verbal jabs at each other in the past. Considering Diaz’s star power in MMA, a potential crossover showdown between the pair could make for big numbers. However, Diaz would first need to complete the exclusive negotiating period he has with the UFC.
