Nate Diaz has an idea of who would win between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, but he feels the bout is snake oil.

McGregor and Chandler have served as opposing coaches on season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” While there has been some tension between the two, many are wondering if the bout will ever come to fruition. Count Diaz as one of the skeptics.

Nate Diaz on McGregor vs. Chandler

Nate Diaz recently spoke to Mirror Fighting and gave his prediction for McGregor vs. Chandler, a bout he doesn’t think will happen.

“Chandler’s a nice guy, but he’s not gonna win,” Diaz said. “I don’t think they’re gonna fight, though. I don’t think those guys are gonna fight. Do you think they’re gonna fight? Does anyone think they’re gonna fight? Conor vs. Chandler? They’re not gonna fight.”

When the involvement of McGregor and Chandler on TUF 31 was mentioned, the Stockton native brushed it off.

“Yeah, I know, but I don’t think they’re gonna fight,” Diaz said. “There’s no bout agreement and just like the BMF, then they have nothing to entertain nobody. They’re like, ‘Alright, we gotta bring this guy, we gotta put Conor on TV.'”

Who Should Conor McGregor Meet Next?

Diaz went on to reveal who he thinks McGregor should share the Octagon with next.

“I think Conor and [Justin] Gaethje should fight,” Diaz said. “I think that’ll probably be next, but Gaethje might just act like he’s too cool or something, but just shows how much of a nerd he is.”

McGregor has yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool. The “Notorious” one actually missed the deadline to be eligible to fight this year. Despite this, rumors continue to surface on a potential fight in December.

As for Diaz, he will share the boxing ring with social media star Jake Paul on August 5. The two will collide inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
