Nate Diaz After UFC 230 Cancellation: ‘I’ll Just Fight Khabib’

Nate Diaz Is Also Off UFC 230 Card Says He Wants Title Fight With Khabib Nurmagomedov Next

Yesterday news broke that Dustin Poirier pulled out of his co-main event bout against Nate Diaz at UFC 230 PPV event due to an undisclosed injury. According to Lance Pugmire, UFC head honcho says Diaz has also yanked from the card.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani followed up with Stockton-native on the cancellation, to that Diaz says he has set his sights on the bigger fight.

“I’ll just fight Khabib when he’s ready,” he said.

Nate’s older brother Nick Diaz also recently said that boring Khabib Nurmagomedov has a dirty fighting style and he can beat both Mcgregor and ‘Eagle’ easily.

Back in 2015, both Diaz brothers were involved in two brawls with Khabib’s camp which happen during and after the WSOF event.

So we can’t blame if Nate is aiming high, getting a title fight against lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomeodov could be one tough task. If Poirier’s injury isn’t that gnarly, then he may return and could easily get a crack at a title against Khabib.

Tony Ferguson is another contender who recently defeated Anthony Pettis in a bloody war at the co-main event of UFC 229, is also looking for a crack at a title. Off all Mcgregor immediately calls for a rematch, the possibility is that UFC may go for this first.

But before that everyone has to wait, what kind of punishment NSAC hand to Khabib for his involvement in post-fight melee.

Nate Diaz hasn’t set foot inside the cage since his close decision loss to Conor ‘Notorious’ McGregor back in 2016.

Who do you think Nate Diaz should fight next?
