Michael Johnson Defeated Artem Lobov Via Unanimous Decision In A Great Match!
We are live from Moncton Events Centre in New Brunswick, Canada. Artem Lobov fights Michael Johnson at the co-main event of UFC Moncton.
Artem Lobov was set to fight Zubaira Tukhugov but “Warrior” is removed due to UFC 229 post-fight incident. Despite all the drama and even Lobov’s threats, UFC stood by its decision. Michael Johnson stepped in as a short-notice replacement and missed the scale, but Lobov promises he will refund his opponent when the fight is over.
Round 1
Lobov circles around. Left low kick Lobov but misses. Johnson tries a right arm to the body and a high kick but misses both strikes. Lobov with a body kick but ends up on the opponent’s hand. Lobov misses right hook. Lobov misses again with leg and arm.
Good combo Lobov but “The Menace” moves like a cat and escapes, no serious strikes. Lobov with a good body kick. Left hand miss by Lobov. Good body punch counter by Johnson. Lobov tries combo again but Johnson with a great counter. Low kick Lobov. Left hand to the body Johnson.
Great right body kick Lobov but he eats a right hand from Johnson.
It looks like Lobov is bleeding!
Johnson with a jab to the body. Lobov misses right hand again, “The Menace” moves like a pro. Good left hand by Johnson, and a good low kick. Lobov with a right uppercut to the body. Lobov switched stance.
Good uppercut Lobov, and a great left hand followed by a right middle kick. The end of the round, it looks like “The Russian Hammer” won this one.
Round 2
Left hand to the body Johnson. Lobov misses dangerous right uppercut, “The Menace” slips. Again right hook miss Lobov. Low kick Johnson but checked, Lobov returns left low kick. Left low kick by Johnson, good exchange. Excellent left hook Artem Lobov, and right hand to the body. Right hook Lobov, “The Menace” goes backward. Left punch to the head Lobov.
Right low kick by Michael. What a left hand to the head Johnson. Middle kick blocked by Lobov. It looks like Johnson’s pace has slowed down a lot.
Wow, what a left hand by Johnson!!!
Lobov doesn’t show he has problems, good two punches to the head by Lobov. Johnson reaches Lobov’s chin again. Excellent punch Lobov. Artem misses right uppercut again. Good left hand by Johnson and right hand by Lobov. Another great exchange. Good left hand Johnson, Lobov keeps his hands very wide. Good combo attempt Lobov, but Johnson moves again and escapes.
Good combos but both fighters are missing. Good low kick Johnson, and excellent punch exchange.
And now Johnson is bleeding!

Round 3
Fighters touch gloves. Right low kick Johnson. Lobov misses again, but Johnson misses with a left high kick too. Low kick Johnson. Low kick Lobov. It looked like an elbow strike from Lobov! “The Menace” isn’t pulling back now.
Lobov is bleeding again, Johnson moves forward now. Lobov misses two punch combo. What a good punch by Johnson. Right hand to the head Lobov. Lobov misses right hook. Right high kick Johnson but no success. What a great left hook by Johnson!
Lobov tries left spinning back kick but misses. Lobov is slower now. Uppercut and low kick by Johnson. Lobov misses a low kick. Excellent left hand from Johnson. What a left hook miss by Johnson, Lobov ducks like a pro! Lobov misses a right straight punch.
Lobov misses again, oh what a jab, Lobov looks rocked!
But he stands up quickly, his knee went down. Again great right jab.
Johnson takes Lobov down!
Few punches and elbows. Great work by Michael Johnson, he moves those hips like a pro, Lobov goes for Kimura. The fight is over, probably the victory for “The Menace”.

Artem Lobov drops to 13-15-1, 1 NC MMA, 2-5 UFC, Michael Johnson improved his score to 19-13 MMA, 11-9 UFC.
