  • Michael Bisping explained why he thinks Ciryl Gane should fight Curtis Blaydes next
  • “Bon Gamin” insists that his UFC Paris win over Sergey Spivak has made him a title contender once again

Michael Bisping weighed in on who’s gonna be next for Ciryl Gane following his impressive TKO win over Sergey Spivak at UFC Paris. The way “The Count” sees it, one fighter fits the bill.

It needs to be Curtis

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bisping revealed that he personally spoke to Tom Aspinall about what’s next for him and as it turns out, Gane is unlikely to be his next opponent. The Brit said Sergei Pavlovich, meanwhile is more likely to be the backup for the Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic fight, and “Bon Gamin” is left with No. 5 heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes.

“It’s a good question because I asked him, Tom Aspinall, Saturday night, he’s in the building but apparently that one might not be happening. Now, if we look at the rankings here, obviously Jon Jones that’s the man, that’s the goal, that’s the champ. Sergei Pavlovich is ranked number one, by all accounts Sergei Pavlovich is going to be the backup fighter for Stipe Miocic taking on Jon Jones… Tom Aspinall, not sure what it’s going to happen with him maybe if Sergei Pavlovich doesn’t fight as a backup fighter, Tom Aspinall versus Sergei Pavlovich might be the future, could be the next fight, it seems to make sense to me,” Bisping assessed.

“Looking at those names Tai Tuivasa, he’s beat him, there’s one name, you see it, I don’t even need to say it but I’m gonna say it, Curtis Blaydes, that has to be the next matchup. I’m not sure if he’s matched up with anyone right now but Curtis blades needs to be the one,” he continued.

Ciryl wants the title

After his UFC Paris victory, Gane has made it clear that his mission is to fight for the title once again. However, the Frenchman also admitted that he is unsure about how it would come to fruition given that Jones and Miocic could both end up retiring after UFC 295. Nevertheless, “Bon Gamin” is certain he has proven that he is still a legitimate title contender.

On the other hand, Blaydes is already slated for a showdown with Jailton Almeida next month. Hence, it is yet to be known what lies ahead of “Bon Gamin.”
