- Khabib Nurmagomedov shockingly predicted that Charles Oliveira will not show up at UFC 280
- Michael Bisping explained why he thinks “The Eagle” shouldn’t talk too much
Things have been heating up ahead of the highly-anticipated UFC 280 title fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev. Former UFC lightweight king and Makhachev’s mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov recently took a dig at Oliveira regarding missing weight. Michael Bisping did not let it slide and commented on the subject on his podcast.
A bold prediction
Taking his bold prediction to Twitter, Nurmagomedov suspected that “do Bronx” will miss weight and eventually be replaced by Beneil Dariush.
“I just think Charles Oliveira will not show up in Abu Dhabi and the UFC will replace Charles with Beneil Dariush. Regardless of who the opponent will be, @MAKHACHEVMMA is on his way to becoming the best in the world #ufc280,” Khabib tweeted.

A friendly advice
It did not take long for Nurmagomedov’s fellow former UFC champion Bisping to weigh in on the juicy tweet. Not so long ago, “The Count” pointed out that “The Eagle” had also missed weight several times in the past. In his reaction, Bisping emphasized it once again, stressing that due to that fact, Nurmagomedov shouldn’t talk too much, especially when it’s about cutting weight.
“I mean look, Khabib’s gonna go out there and defend his boy,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel. “Of course. Islam is a protege of his and he’s coaching him and he’s taken him under his wing and he’s mentoring him. And Khabib’s gonna say what Khabib says. However, Khabib’s a legend so that’s why I’m hesitating and he’s potentially the GOAT. Nothing but the highest respect, [but] Khabib did miss weight a few times as well. I mean I love Khabib, I’m not talking s***, I’m a huge fan. But, but, you can’t really say too much.”
As it stands, there have been no changes made for UFC 280. Oliveira vs. Makhachev is still the main event and everything Nurmagomedov said was just a wild speculation.
