Michael Bisping believes Conor McGregor might have a leg up on Michael Chandler already before the fight even happens.

One of the most anticipated fights of this year coming up is the welterweight matchup between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. McGregor has been absent from the sport since July 2021 when he injured his leg in his bout with Dustin Poirier. McGregor has been busy outside of fighting but is now looking to return later this year and his opponent will be Michael Chandler. Chandler and McGregor have spent a lot of time already together as coaches on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter, set to debut later this month.

The Ultimate Fighter filming is meant to be private but already there has been some leaks. Fans have seen McGregor up to his old ways and now Michael Bisping, UFC commentator and analyst thinks that McGregor may have rattled Chandler before they even hit the cage.

“One thing he has been doing, he has been winning the mind games with Michael Chandler,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel.”He pushed him by the throat, grabbed him, whatever. That’s never a good sign when someone loses their temper like that. Good promotion now, but there was that little clip that was doing the rounds where they’re in the gym and McGregor says what weight do you want to do it? We’re finding it 185 And then Chandler says, Yeah, I’ll do the 185, and then McGregor says you’ll do as you’re told, and then just walked off. And Chandler didn’t say anything back, dude, you got to speak up. You can’t let someone dictate the terms like that.”

Michael Bisping is fairly certain which UFC event will host McGregor vs. Chandler

The world of MMA is waiting for McGregor to return to the Octagon now Michael Bisping thinks he knows when it might happen. With the prolonged absence, McGregor removed himself from the USADA testing pool. All active UFC fighters must be drug tested randomly in order to be eligible to fight. McGregor needs six months in the pool before he can fight Chandler. In the most recent update of the USADA, he has not been tested yet.

“In terms of a timeline, what are we in now? May, so six months,” he said. “They could fight the end of the year. I think the idea was Madison Square Garden, that’s going to be Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic judging by what everyone’s saying online. So the final card of the year at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, they still got seven months for that. So McGregor just gotta get into the testing pool. He’s gonna get off the, whatever he’s on, gotta get off the good stuff, get back on he protein shakes and the porridge.”

Bisping is guessing that McGregor will return to testing within the next couple of weeks. If that is true he could be ready to return by December. One of the biggest cards of the year is the December end-of-the-year card that usually happens in Las Vegas. Bisping believes that this could be the landing spot for this huge The Ultimate Fighter Coach showdown.
