Michale Bisping is expecting a very dangerous Colby Covington at UFC 296.
Covington is set to headline the year-end pay-per-view card from Las Vegas against welterweight champion Leon Edwards. It’s a pivotal fight for Covington as it’s his third crack at becoming the undisputed welterweight champion, as he’s 0-2 in title fights so far, as he was TKO’d by Kamaru Usman and lost a competitive decision to Usman in the rematch.
Now, heading into his title fight against Leon Edwards, Michael Bisping believes this is Colby Covington’s last crack at a title fight which will make him a very dangerous opponent.
Bisping says UFC 296 is Colby Covington’s last title fight
“Here is what is going to make Colby very, very dangerous come fight night. He’s 36-years-old. This is his last title fight, it’s as simple as that. This will be his third time fighting for the belt, twice against Kamaru Usman, didn’t get the job done. Got stopped once, went to a decision the next time,” Michael Bisping said on his YouTube channel. “Very competitive fights, though, very competitive fights, but it doesn’t matter, he didn’t win, he didn’t become the champion. Last time we saw him in action was the 5th of March 2022, so a while ago against Jorge Masvidal, got the job done, a unanimous decision…
“This is going to be the last chance for Colby Covington okay, this really is. So, you know Colby is always out there doing interviews, always talking shit about people, always stirring the pot, and generally being very entertaining. I dare you to not be entertained by Colby Covington. Because the man is, but where is he now? What is he saying lately? He has disappeared off the face of the Earth. What does that mean? He is deep in camp working his ass off because the pressure is on. We always want to win fights. We want to become champion of the world when by far the last chance you are going to get. The pressure’s on and of course he wants to become a champion and of course he wants to become a champion over everything else,” Bisping continued.
Michael Bisping certainly has a point that this likely will be Colby Covington’s final title fight in the UFC. So, it will add extra motivation for ‘Chaos’ to get the job done and silence the world.
