Conor McGregor is nearing the end of his UFC contract.

McGregor: ‘I Have Two Fights Left…’

After injuries, booming business and movie deals, the UFC superstar is ready to get back into the Octagon as early as this summer. McGregor, 35, is ‘all systems go‘ for a comeback against Michael Chandler on June 29th and after that, he wishes to complete his trilogy with rival Nate Diaz in September at the Las Vegas Sphere.

If those two fights are confirmed, they’d be the last on McGregor’s current deal with the UFC and he’d be able to test free agency elsewhere or re-sign with the promotion. That very decision could explain why it’s taking so long for the UFC to book their blockbuster star.

“I have two fights left in the contract and we gotta do something else or do we?” McGregor said on ‘The MMA Hour‘. “I don’t know. I mean, surely, surely nobody brings the figures I bring. Nobody brings the figures I bring or ever. All of these things will, I’m sure, be worked out and ironed out with my management stable Paradigm Sports in our next phase of relations, our next deal. So, I’m happy.”

Paging ‘Mr. B’

What do these discussions with the UFC brass look like? ‘The Notorious’ says they’re non-existent as he keeps waiting to pick up the phone for a call that has yet to be made.

“They’re no talks about no deals. Usually Lorenzo [Fertitta] would’ve had something tasty on my plate well ago, Lorenzo would’ve probably f****** resigned me two fights ago.  I dunno, there’s no talks. Maybe they just don’t know as well. I know they know I’m up [on my contract]. But I mean, what way do you approach it?” McGregor asked. “Like, how do we?

“I’m a billionaire. I’m Mr. B, Mr. couple of B’s. So, what way do you come at someone like me, that’s gonna keep me tied. I would just ride the wave, man. And then, and then I don’t know after that.”

‘Let’s See What Transpires’

The possibilities are endless for Conor McGregor should he pursue free agency, but the former champ is keeping an open mind when it comes to potentially re-signing with the UFC as they helped build his career to what is today— a movie actor in ‘Road House’, a very successful businessman and of course, the biggest star the sport of MMA has ever seen.

“That’s my catalog, that’s my library, that’s my life. UFC is what made me and gave me this,” McGregor went on. “I love the company with all of my being, really. It’s the best, most iconic fighting organization that’s ever been and I’m all over it. I f****** love that. So, and I love every fight there and every card and every show, and every one at the backstage. I would love to do something. I’d love to carry it on, I hope. Let’s see what transpires.”
