Matt Lindland believes Anderson Silva will ‘weasel out’ of a fight against Chael Sonnen

If you want to individually smack every TUF n00b for not knowing who Matt Lindland is, enjoy your multiple 2nd degree assault charges. However, if you want to hide behind a bush and throw half-empty bottles of salad dressing at their heads, I’ll be right there with you. Despite being the number one ranked middleweight in the world at the time, the UFC released Matt Lindland because he wore a Sportsbook t-shirt at the weigh-ins for his UFC 52 bout with Joe Doerksen. Lindland was cut for not adhering to the dress-code. It was like Matt was in Catholic school, and for this analogy to work, Dana White would have been the nun.

In a recent interview with MMAHQ, Matt Lindlland vehemently believes Anderson Silva will ‘weasel out’ of a rematch against Chael Sonnen.

Anderson will to find a way to weasel out of that fight. I don’t know what his contractual obligations are as far as who he has to fight as a champion but they’re already laying the ground work; I mean look at the article that came out this morning on Bloody Elbow.”

“His manager Ed Soares is already making excuses for Anderson to not take that fight so yeah I think they’re going to try to weasel out of it. I don’t know what his obligations are contractually to the UFC but his obligations to the fans are that he needs to take that fight.”

“Everyone of the fans know that Chael’s the number one contender and the guy that has a chance of beating him, can beat him and exposed his weaknesses in that fight. The fans want to see that fight and Anderson owes the fans that fight.”

Speaking of ‘TUF n00bs,’ just imagine the next generation of veritable ‘TUF n00bs’ that will be introduced to this sport solely due to the UFC premiering on FOX next month. Ugh, get those ban hammers ready moderators. [Source]
