Matt Brown would take a fight with “bum” Conor McGregor but doesn’t respect him.

Within the world of professional sports, it seems as though records are made to be broken. In baseball could be the home run record, in basketball it could be the all-time leading points record, and in MMA there are many records that could be broken. Within the UFC right now long-time fighter Matt Brown currently holds the record for most KOs inside the Octagon alongside heavyweight Derrick Lewis. Brown secured this record on May 13 when he defeated Court McGee by KO in the very first round of UFC on ABC 4. It wasn’t long after that win that he began to be called out by none other than Conor McGregor.

McGregor wants to be the one holding the record for most KOs in the UFC. He took to social media to say that he would one day be holding that record himself. Matt Brown responded by saying he would fight him for it.

Matt Brown calls Conor McGregor a bum and accuses him of steroid use

It’s no secret that a fight with McGregor is one of the most valuable in the UFC at this time. McGregor is the biggest star in mixed martial arts and any fighter who secures a bout against him will most likely be making the most money they have in their career. Brown at 42 years old may not have that much time left in the UFC and wants to make the most of it by taking on McGregor. McGregor fired back at this offer by calling it a “woeful attempt.” Despite shutting the proposal down, Brown would still be interested in the fight although he is not too fond of McGregor at all. He spoke about this on the Michael Bisping podcast.

“With Conor, I just want the red panty night, right?” he said. “I mean, he’s a nobody to be honest, in my opinion. I mean, he was amazing and I give him all the props for everything he did. At this point, he’s a bum. Conor, like he lost, what, four of his last five right? And he hasn’t f–king done nothing,” he said. “Like everything you see is him drinking or getting coked up or you know, he’s juiced out of his mind like, that’s f–king bum life to me. All that money don’t make you not a bum.”

Brown is proud of his record although he shares it with heavyweight Lewis. He, in addition to offering up a fight to McGregor, offered himself up to Lewis also in an attempt to solidify holding the record all to herself. Brown fights at welterweight and the likelihood of a fight against Lewis is highly unlikely, although it may be more likely than him getting a fight with McGregor.
