Kimo may have faked his own death for a movie

When it was reported that Kimo Leopaldo died, we reported that Royce Gracie got his first night of sleep since 1994. TMZ spread the news, every MMA site gave him a little digital memorial (it’s the best we could do) and then…Kimo was not dead. Kimo became un-dead in the course of a few hours. Beat that Jesus.

It turns out the dude was just taking a nap. The next day Kimo held a press conference to present the MMA world with overwhelming evidence that in fact he was still alive and that he still has that gnarly tattoo on his back. He was pretty pissed and told reporters that he would prosecute whoever spread the rumors. Now it looks like Kimo’s people actually reported to TMZ that he was dead:

“We actually got a call from his reps”

“There are a lot of people who just want to – and I’m not saying [Leopoldo] – but representatives that want to get their name out there in all sorts of ways,”

“And somebody there clearly did.”

Our reporter, Elena Lopez, interviewed Kimo at the recent IMMAE and the dude told us he was staring in a movie as a dead person. Well…a dead demon sort of thing. Kimo was pretty stoked about it so if he did fake his own death as a means to promote his film, then I guess we just sort of accidentally helped him.

Check out our interview with Kimo Leopaldo in which he talks about being dead…but in front of the silverscreen. He also calls out Kimbo Slice. {play}{/play}
