Khabib Targeting Return To UFC By Late 2018 Against Conor Mcgregor Or Georges St-Pierre

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC’s 155-pound champion, teased he’s planning a UFC return either in September or October. ‘The Eagle‘ just won the UFC strap at UFC 223 with a win over Al Iaquinta last month in Brooklyn.

Several fighters are chomping at the bit to end the Nurmagomedov’s reign at the summit of the 155lbs division, most notably Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor.

Khabib posted footage on social media, where he revealed his return date and mentioned few names who could be his challenge. (Via MMAMania)

“A lot of people ask me about my next fight. To be honest I don’t know. I don’t know when it’s going to be. Now we talk about this with the UFC. It’s going to be maybe 9 September or 6 October. I don’t know about opponent; Conor, GSP, whoever. It doesn’t matter, we’ll see. Next couple of weeks it’s going to be very fun because now we’re beginning to talk about my next fight with the UFC. I feel great, I feel good. Now we have Ramadan and we train only night and feeling good and great. My weight is good, my shape is good. I am always training everyday, sometimes I train two times.”

The ideal scenario for the UFC is to book Nurmagomedov against Conor McGregor, but before that Irishman has to get through his court date on June 14. It’s unclear when Notorious will return, though a matchup with ‘Eagle’ — the man who was the target of said metal dolly — likely has the UFC salivating.

As for show goes down against Georges St Pierre, the former two-division champ is open to the idea of make a run at 155 pounds. GSP captures middleweight title back in November after submitting Michael Bisping at UFC 217 and then shortly after vacated due to ulcerative colitis. Who know for that reason promotion may not keen to offer that fight to St-Pierre.

Anyway, confusion is still lingering who will be Khabib Nurmagomedov’s opponent.
