Conor Mcgregor who stormed the UFC media day event at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday, crashing a metal barrier on bus occupied by UFC fighters resulted in UFC lightweight Michael Chiesa’s face got lacerations with flying glass.
The whole attempt was to get to Khabib Nurmagomedov after he had an altercation with his longtime training partner Artem Lobov in a hotel earlier this week.
“I am laughing inside. You broke window? Why? Come inside. If you real gangster why don’t you come inside? This is big history gangster place. Brooklyn. You want to talk to me? Send me location. I am going to come. No problem,” he added, before revealing only he, his cornerman and his manager were on the bus at the moment.
“To be honest, I don’t want him to go to jail,” Nurmagomedov said. “We have to fight. If we have to fight, let’s fight. Send me location. Please, we have to fix this. Me and you. One-on-one. You want 10-on-10? OK,” he added.
“I give his whole team slap and no one say anything. He come with media, with cameras when I’m alone. Of course I want to go outside but they don’t let me leave the bus. He knows this. They don’t do nothing. I’m here.”
Nurmagomedov made it very clear that his whole team wasn’t on the bus, it was just him, his manager and other members of the red corner on Saturday night:
Rose Namajunas, who is scheduled to defend her title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk, was visibly shaken up but got no injury, according to sources, Rose still planning on competing at Saturday night’s card.
“This is not my team bus, this is red corner bus,” he said. “My whole team wasn’t with me. It was just me, (my manager) Ali Abdelaziz and a cornerman, Muhammed. The whole red corner was on the bus. Rose Namajunas, Al Iaquinta, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Ray Borg. Everyone.”
“I am good. I feel good. Tomorrow, I am going to make weight. On Saturday, I am going to take belt and change the game.”
Following today’s incident, UFC president Dana White said, Police warrants are out for Conor Mcgregor’s arrest.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is slated to fight featherweight champion Max Holloway on Saturday night for “official lightweight title.”
