- Khabib Nurmagomedov explains why he doesn’t believe in other genders besides male and female
- “The Eagle” recalls a funny story about multi-gender bathrooms
UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov shared his hilarious yet controversial take on gender equality.
There are only two Genders
Speaking to the PBD podcast, Nurmagomedov bluntly pointed out that other countries may have more than two genders but back in his homeland, there are only men and women.
“I only see woman and man. There is no between. Maybe kids,” Nurmagomedov said. “It’s crazy. It’s like, the first time in my life, a couple of weeks ago, I was in California. I was in a coffee shop and I was like, ‘I really want to go to the bathroom. Can I go to the bathroom?’ They told me I could and I’m like, two bathrooms. All gender, all gender. I was like, ‘What is this? Where do I have to go?’”
“First time I’ve seen [it]. I stopped like [for] five seconds like, ‘Where is woman? Where is man?’ I knocked on the door. ‘Anybody inside?’ Okay. [Laughs],” he added. “I grew up in a very traditional place, with a very traditional family. I am very happy with this. I am from big mountains and we only have two genders.”
Khabib may never make a UFC Return
Aside from Nurmagomedov’s interesting point of view, what most MMA fans love to hear about “The Eagle” are his thoughts on making a UFC return. As it turned out, the former lightweight champion is unlikely to consider it.
“About a comeback, I’m not sure. I’m like, no make sense. For me, no make sense. Of course, people want to see this. People want drama like a movie that continued, but right now, I’m full,” Nurmagomedov said.
In 2021, Nurmagomedov officially retired following his title fight win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Since then, “The Eagle” focused on his personal life, coaching, and business endeavors, including running his own promotion, Eagle FC.
