Khabib Nurmagomedov is teasing something big happening later this year.

The former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is beloved by fans. He is often brought up in the conversation of the greatest of all time in mixed martial arts. Nurmagomedov left competitive MMA back in 2020 to follow the request from his mother. He has since mentioned several times that he will not be returning to competition but now is teasing a possible change of sport perhaps.

Nurmagomedov retired at the age of 32 with a record of 29–0. He was at the top of his game at the time with due to the unexpected death of his father/coach his mother requested that he walk away from the sport. For a while, he stayed close to the UFC and MMA as a whole. He remained a coach and mentor to his team in Dagestan, Russia and he started his own MMA organization called Eagle FC. But more recently he decided to walk away from the sport altogether to spend more time with family and work on other business endeavors. Now he is teasing something on social media.

Khabib Nurmagomedov he’s getting ready for something in July

Nurmagomedov is not a big talker on social media. He will sometimes post photos of himself with other fighters or celebrities or politicians. He sometimes posts ads for some of the companies he represents. But now he is teasing a return possibly.

“July I have to be ready,” he wrote. “(not MMA)”

The video shows him running on a treadmill and although the caption says not MMA-related it could be another sport. Nurmagomedov has mentioned previously that he has wanted to try himself out professionally in soccer so perhaps he is leaning towards that as his next sports career. Right now all guesses are just speculation but without the promise of MMA it could be literally anything. Only time will tell.
