Khabib Nurmagomedov Opens Betting Favorite Over Mcgregor And Ferguson

Undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov, a native of Dagestan, scores unanimous decision win over extremely late replacement Al Iaquinta to capture lightweight title in the main event of UFC 223 on April 7 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. With that win, Khabib improved to 26-0 as a professional mixed martial artist.

In the wake of Khabib’s lopsided decision victory (50-44, 50-43, 50-43) over Al Iaquinta, the UFC officially stripped Conor Mcgregor of the title.

Regardless of Khabib’s dominant performance from opening round till finish, there were some glaring problems with his striking didn’t go unnoticed by fans and some analysis.

But that didn’t rattle the oddsmakers, who released the betting odds for inevitable Conor Mcgregor and Tony Ferguson fights, but Khabib has opened big favorite over them.

Betting odds from ‘The Odessa Line’ (Via MMAJunkie)

Khabib Nurmagomedov -165 (1.61)
Conor McGregor +135 (2.35)

Khabib Nurmagomedov -200 (1.5)
Tony Ferguson +165 (2.65)

Khabib Nurmagomedov is likely to return to Octagon late summer or in fall for a title defense against Conor Mcgregor or Tony Ferguson.

Moreover, there is a rumor that runs rampant about Conor McGregor and retired boxer Floyd Mayweather will reportedly fight once again — in a cage — but with modified MMA rules.

With Conor Mcgregor’s recent troubles outside of the Octagon, it may be a while until we see either of fight become reality.
