Kevin Lee Joins the UFC roster once again with an exclusive deal.

Kevin Lee’s exclusive contract with UFC confirmed by ESPN. Former Lightweight Contender to rejoin roster, an announcement made with the statement.

“I met with [president] Dana White and [chief business officer] Hunter Campbell, and I feel like I’m going back home,” Lee told ESPN in a statement. “I’m grateful for them welcoming me back and looking forward to the next chapter of my career.”

Kevin Lee, a professional mixed martial artist, was released from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after suffering consecutive losses to Charles Oliveira and Daniel Rodriguez. Despite having multiple fights left on his contract, Lee was let go from the organization.

After being let go from the UFC as a result of two consecutive losses, Kevin Lee was initially dissatisfied with the organization, but has since reconciled. This year, Lee took a major step forward in his career by teaming up with renowned manager Ali Abdelaziz and Dominance MMA to bring a new level of direction and potential to his career.

Kevin Lee Hints At Potential UFC Return Over The Weekend

The one-time interim lightweight title challenger recently teased a potential return to the Octagon after posting a picture of himself alongside UFC president Dana White and Hunter Campbell.

“I’m grateful for every moment in my life,” Lee wrote. “Allhamdulillah.”

Kevin’s Lee run in the UFC started solidly with ‘The Motown Phenom’ going 10-3 and earning an interim lightweight title opportunity against division staple Tony Ferguson. Lee came up short in his one and only title bid. From that point on, Lee would struggle to find the win column, going 4-3 and facing a slew of criticism after missing weight on multiple occasions. Following his loss against Daniel Rodriguez in August 2021, the Michigan native was hit with a six-month suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for Adderall. The UFC released him shortly after.

Is Kevin Lee Ready to Move on from Eagle FC?

Two weeks removed from his UFC exit, Lee announced that he had signed a lucrative multi-fight deal with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s promotion Eagle FC. Lee made his debut in March 2022 against another former UFC standout, Diego Sanchez. Lee earned a decisive victory but has not fought since.

In August, Lee got the attention of fans after he seemingly called out Nurmagomedov on Twitter, asking the UFC Hall of Famer if he’d be “more comfortable talking publicly?”

With Eagle FC appearing to no longer prioritize events in the United States, Lee is essentially left without an employer. Is Dana White ready to forgive and forget Lee’s past discretions and give ‘The Motown Phenom’ another shot inside the Octagon?
