Justin Gaethje Got Back Into Winning Column After Annihilating James Vick By First Round KO
Lightweight contenders Justin Gaethje and James Vick squared off last night (Sat., August 25, 2018) from Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, live on Fox Sports 1 (FS1). Gaethje came back to the winning column after consecutive losses in a battle with Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier.
Vick starts out early with the Sidekick. Gaethje jabs to the body. Vick throws a body kicks. Gaethje walks to clinch, absorbs some punishment, another body kick from Vick, then in exchange Gaethje also throw a leg kick. Then all of sudden Gathje uncorked a right hand that sends Vick down to the canvas, wow what a knockout. Gaethje leaped off to the top of the cage for his signature flip. Vick regained his consciousness and didn’t realize what happens, Gaethje came back to console him, Vick tried to take Gaethje down again.
With the win, Justin Gaethje solidifies himself as one of the best lightweights in the division and qualify for another high profile fight.
The loss snapped Vick’s four-fight winning streak.
