Jose Aldo and Jeremy Stephens are looking to be the fan-favorite fight at Gamebred Boxing 4.

The trend of MMA fighters turning to boxing has been growing in combat sports. Now there is a massive boxing event that seems to be a showcase for this trend. Current UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal will be running his Gamebred Boxing 4 event in Milwaukee, WI. The event is stacked from top to bottom with big named fighters looking to make their splash in the sport of boxing. The event is headlined by former UFC champion Anthony Pettis taking on b0xing legend Roy Jones Jr. The co-main event is an absolute banger that features another former UFC champion, Jose Aldo taking on Jeremy Stephens.

For Aldo, this move to boxing came after he announced his retirement from MMA. He is looking at this move as a new beginning and feels he is at the perfect time in his life to give a new sport a try. Gamebred Boxing released a hype video featuring these two fighters on their YouTube channel. IN the video Aldo explains why this fight makes sense.

“The fight with Jeremy Stevens is a new story,” he said. “Because we thought already in MMA. He’s a pretty tough guy who is aggressive, who is always looking for a fight. I think it’s a new story now I think it’s a new fight, to act within the modality that is boxing, within the boxing rules. I have to show who I’ve always been. I’ve always been a guy who likes to attack. Who looks for a fight from start to finish it should be no different in boxing.”

Jeremy Stephens is looking to take out the legend, Jose Aldo

Stephens is looking at this fight as not only a new opportunity but as a showstopper. He feels that his fight against Aldo is what people will be tuning in for. These two fought once before in the UFC back in 2018 with Aldo winning by knockout. This is Stephens’ chance at redemption and he plans on bringing everything that he has.

“Everybody’s tuning into this fight, f-ck everybody else on the card. My fights the only fight that matters. They know it’s pure excitement that we’re bringing to the table. It’s a different f-cking breed in there,” he said. “You got older guys, body looking soft, I’m 36 just shredded to the gills ready to kill a mother-f-cker. That’s what we’re bringing to the table.  That’s bringing excitement back to boxing and that’s what we’re gonna do. You guys call him a legend, this and that, you know, I call him an opponent who’s coming to take everything from me, steal money off my table, food off my kid’s table. Nothing’s getting in my way. I’m coming for his f-cking head and I’m cleaning the clock.”

The Gamebred Boxing 4 card will take place on Saturday, April 1, and will feature several ex-UFC fighters including Aldo, Stephens, Pettis, Jacare Souza, and Vitor Belfort.
