Initially, Aldo said he was looking a fight at home country Rio de Janeiro, which hosts UFC 224 on May 12, but that card already has been booked with great fights.
Aldo is currently trying to be decisive about getting back to his former featherweight title. Despite being the greatest featherweight in UFC history, has suffered back to back recent losses to champ Max Holloway, he knows he’s not going to get another shot until something changes at the top of the division. That’s why he accepted a fight with Stephens.
Stephens is currently riding an impressive three-fight streak defeated Gilbert Melendez, and prospects Doo Ho Choi and Josh Emmett.
There’s no confirmation yet, it seems likely that Stephens vs. Aldo bout could serve as the UFC Singapore headliner. Moreover, the city and location haven’t been announced yet.
Stay tuned for more details on this targeted bout!
