Jose Aldo Dropping Down to Bantamweight Division, Wants Cejudo

Former UFC featherweight Jose Aldo has been adamant on a change down to the UFC’s bantamweight division. While many were skeptical of the move including UFC President Dana White, Aldo’s progress seems to be coming along well. At least from the images that have surfaced the internet of Aldo’s new shredded physique.

Ana Hissa, a journalist for Combate, shared images via Twitter of Aldo’s body.

Aldo’s Shredded Physique

The translated caption reads, “Determined to fight the rooster weight, José Aldo showed that he was firm in the diet and exhibited the new shape,” wrote Hissa.

Fans of Aldo immediately began to ask Hissa how much Jose Aldo weighed in the photo. Rather than revealing the information immediately, Hissa advised fans to stay tuned.

Hissa teased a full interview with Aldo to be released tomorrow. Alluding to revealing how much Aldo weighs in the photo, fans will have to stay tuned and be on the lookout for Aldo’s interview with Ana.

Only 3 of the 14 UFC fights in Aldo’s career did not involve the UFC featherweight championship. Going forward, Aldo will look to capture gold immediately in the bantamweight division.

Potential of Aldo vs Cejudo

UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo called out Aldo, as well as a host of other opponents. At this point, it seems like Cejudo has called out every legend and titleholder that the sport has to offer. However, Aldo responded to Cejudo’s callout via Instagram.

Aldo accepted the challenge in the form of a photo of Cejudo edited as a garden gnome.

The caption read, “We accept the challenge @danawhite @henry_cejudo Just say when and where and I’ll be there to beat your a** and add another gnome to my collection. #JoseAldomatadordeanoes #gnome#vouarrancarsuacabeça”

Potential Matchups For Aldo at Bantamweight

Although Aldo has had over 30 professional fights, he is still only 33 years old. Now that he is allegedly dropping down to the bantamweight division, who would, fans want Aldo to face?

Should Aldo get an immediate title shot? Or, should Aldo have to face contenders first and build his way to gold?
